Unhappy In memorian

I just came home from the vet having said good-bye to my cat.

He died of a stroke just two hours ago.

He was with me for almost eleven years, living between Paris and Scandinavia, never complaining to travel with me.

He was such a special cat and a joy to us all. A gourmand, very hot tempered and a show off.

I know he was only a cat, but to us he was a person.

I know he is with my Dad, my aunt and grandmother and our other cats who have passed away.

Rest in peace, mon prince, mon trésor. Je t´aime.

I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved cat. He was NOT only a cat...he meant something to you and you loved him. He brought years of love and companionship to you, so it is only right that you mourn his loss.

Dear Lilya,

I am so sorry to hear about your sweet kitty. Suki's right, he was so much more than "only a cat." The love between animals and humans is I think one of the most unique and beautiful relationships there can be. I lost my two old kitties this year and I will miss them forever. I'm thinking of you and your wonderful cat and holding you both in my heart!

So sorry about your cat. It is heartbreaking to lose a pet. I have lost to cancer 2 dogs in the past 6 years and 2 cats, old age related. We adopted (actually they adopted us) 2 lost/stray cats since then. They are our family.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Thank you so much.

I really appreciate this.

It´s true, our pets are more like our children or at least a member of the family.

I hope all your pets are safe and happy.

Believe, thanks for your prayers my friend.

((Lilya)) - my cats are my babies, so I do understand. I'm so very sorry. They bring us such joy in life, don't ask for much, and it IS pretty devastating when they are gone.

Sending you many hugs and prayers!

Thanks so much.

They are like furbabies and I´m still pretty sad, but we have decided to adopt a new kitten in the spring. Not to replace him, but to celebrate life and find company for my other cat.

My other cat is grieving so much, I don´t know what to do. He has lost his brother and friend. He used to lick him every morning and curl up beside him. It´s so obvious how he feels. He eats very little, sleeps too much and hardly ventures out.

My vet told me to cuddle him and give him good food. We try to give him as much attention as possible, but he´s so sad, it´s heartbreaking.

Lilya, I hope your hugs and cuddles heal your kitten soon.
I am happy you will celebrate life with another cat.

I have a kitten called Dolce, and another one I named Gabanna (the one in my avatar). They have helped me be less depressed, and I cant wait to hold them in my arms. I arrive home and its like "hey, hi, BF" and then "Dooooooooolce!! kiss kiss!! Gabanna!! how are youu my little darlings.... kiss kiss, hug" and I do believe animals ar emuch better than many humans...

I love cats and I dont know how I will manage when I lose them.... so better enjoy the cats we got now. Also, I have seen they give Bach flowers an homeopathic remedy for cats and dogs.. maybe you can put some drops on your kitten's water and it will help it relax... there are some that are called "Rescue" and it gives a sense of calm and relief. For humans and cats. Worth helping out the kitty... and maybe yourself, too... I have got good results with them. They sell them so pets dont get scared with thunders and rain.

Hugs!

Thanks so much, TakingCharge.

I´m going to ask the vet for the stuff you recommend.

I love the face of your cat in your atavar. Dolce and Gabbana makes me smile. So cute.

I was watching some Ragdoll kittens on youtubes. Made me smile, they´re so sweet, but I think we´ll stick with British shorthair, like the one we had, but a different colour and caracter.

Gabanna is Total Relaxation. One can't feel stressed seeing her use anyone and everything as a pillow.

My cats send you hugs! The gray one is Dolce 9 months, and Gabanna is 4 months..

And here is a friend's kitty that also wanted to send you good vibes:

Just think your kitty has endless games to play and jump around now, milk, and catnip! and other cats also waiting for their owners to chase around. Also in some future... my Dolce and Gabanna will join him (or her), I think they would get along well!

I'm so sorry about the loss of your baby. It's so hard when you have a kitty for that long and then have to suddenly say goodbye. I'm really glad that you'll be getting your other cat a friend in the spring. (Just kinda curious as to why you're going to wait. Sounds like your other baby really needs some company now.)

I wanted to share a picture of my baby with you. When I was a few months Clean & Sober, I decided that I was responsible enough to take care of a kitty. I'd had cats all my life and since I live alone, I figured a roommate would be very beneficial. As I was walking out the door of the home of the lady I got him from, I asked her if she knew the exact date that he was born. She had to go look at her calendar and much to my surprise, she said, "July 25th" I was stunned! That's my Sobriety Date! So him and I have grown up together.

Your kitty that you lost is in Heaven with the family members who have left this earth and also the other furbabies you've had in the past. He's able to chase the butterflies with the vigor of a kitten, he has none of the aches and pains that older cats get and most of all, when you are called to Heaven, he'll be waiting to greet you the same way he did while he was still here with you.

God Bless,
Judy

Thanks both of you. They are magnificent!

God, how would life be without cats? One of the things I think of are life cycles. Each cat carries with it changes in life and we associate that with them.

It´s great to have a cat who was born on your sobriety date, Serenityqueen. What a blessing.

Maybe we will have a cat sooner, but it takes a while to breed the shorthair I would like. However, we might take a ragdoll from this new breeder I will meet in March.

We wanted to give Neptune the space he needs for his next partner. That´s why we wanted to wait a little bit.

I´m also a firm believer in life after death.

Thanks for the pictures and your kind words, it´s really great.
