not sure how to help

My mother has been best friends with a woman for over 30 years. Recently this womans husband died. Today i found out this same womans son has had a stroke and is not expected to recover.

with the holidays being next month, i would like to do something special for my moms friend, but i don't know what to do. She has been a huge part of my life since i was 8 years old, but i am at a loss for words.
I thought about making a donation to a charity in her husbands memory but am not sure if it would be appropriate. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

KatieRose..a suggestion..a card with little invites in them,
one may be lunch at her favorite restaurant or deli..one
may be a walk in the afternoon..another may be a picnic
at the hospital when she is visiting her son..you have known
this dear lady a long time..think of some of the special things
she has done for you and the answers will come.

Celebrate this lady's life with just listening ..a gift in itself.

When my friend's mom was ill, I brought them dinner a few times a week.

Make dinner for her, offer to run some errands or housework, ask over for coffee & dessert....just being there for them and listening is being there for them
