A very close friend lost his son today. Turned off life support at three o'clock. They found him on his bedroom floor Friday night. He was already gone. This disease is stronger than rock, water, metal. It can be weakened to the point of non existence with a desire stronger than it is. However, that can be beaten to a thin veil as well... J. would have been 18 this month. Rest peacefully, bright, shining lad. You are now in the oneness of beauty, truth and love. Prayers for J. and his family would so be appreciated. Thank you very, very much.

Thank you for your prayers. Some of you may know of the pain, as a Mother, I have endured going through with my addict daughter over the years. She is clean, sober and has been for two years. She was deeply affected by our friend's son's death. She wrote the following poem, with a post script from E.A. Poe: He can not say that he loathes this glabrous darkness, It helped him to relish the light. He did not sleep well, Though he may have desired a long dreamless slumber. Lies and truth battled in a sedulous dance for control. He was in a keen state of dis ease. He wrote, erased, and rewrote his own requiem. He sought redemption, mayhap, half-heartedly. In the end, he held on to the pain, Clutching it, feeling it, it dictated his shortened life. 17 years on this spinning ball. He was of my kind. I felt his heartbeat in time with mine. Our ilk, we are in love with dispair. I did not know you, my friend. But I knew you, I have been there. Rest in Peace, in the loving hands of God. I see you in the prisms of my tears. "i looked upon the scene before me...with an utter depression of soul which I can compare to no earthly sensation more properly than to the after-dream of the reveller upon opium -- the bitter lapse into everyday life -- the hideous dropping of the veil." Poe

I am sorry for the loss of your friend, Wolf, it is something I don't think we ever get used to. My prayers go out for this man and for all who loved him. May he rest peacefully in the arms of God. Hugs
