I'm sorry - had I noticed this thread earlier I would have replied.

I know that a new puppy wouldn't replace the one you lost, but I'm sure you would learn to love it just the same.

But most importantly, you need to get your drinking under control, do you have any plans in place?

I'm so sorry about your puppy. We have 3 cats and a chihuahua in the house, and they are a HUGE part of our family.

Drinking is not going to make the pain go away, in fact it will make it worse. I hope you realize that you deserve way more from life than drowning in a bottle, and do whatever it takes to begin your recovery.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

Red face sorry

Thank you guys sorry for my rudeness i guess i fell into a bout of selfishness I deeply apologize.I've read some of your posts and my prayers are with you all also especially -too much- I do not have a plan so far because im still stubborn might believe i can quit on my own but slowing im realizing that may not be the case. Each day that goes by i see that window getting smaller and smaller .It may be sooner than i think that a surrender would be in place. Thanks again I wish you all well

(((silenteyes)))

Sometimes we have to just go on doing what we do until we hit bottom and realize there is no way but up. The more you hang around here, and realize you are NOT alone, and you read of the recovery of other people, the more your mind will be aware of options.

A lot of people come here when they're still drinking/using, but thinking about recovery...and a lot of them FIND recovery.

I'm glad you're here.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

I am one of these people! When I found SR i was not even positive I wanted to stop, but people in my life were buggin' me to! It took a few months but I finally
realized that I wanted to for MYSELF. (Hope you have a sense of humor because I say I had a rectal craniotomy---In other words, I pulled my head outta my A$$!)

Welcome to Sober Recovery!!
