Grateful for all who have participated in my sobriety this past year. I am thinking back to my last drunk :friday:-- a pathetic evening in front of the TV with my beer and martinis and whatever else was there. I was just completely checked out of life. I didn't care about anyone or anything unless I needed something from them, or needed them to help me create drama to fill the void in my life. I am thankful for my psychiatrist at the time, who, speaking of my depression, told me that there was only so much the medication and therapy could do. I needed to take action in order to get better. I don't know if she knew then about my drinking (she probably did), but I applied what she said to both problems, addressing the most important, drinking, first. Thank you to all my SR friends who have played such an important part in my recovery! I only hope I can repay the favor someday! La la la....
