| thank you
I am grateful to my Higher Power first and foremost, who is the creator of all things and has given me the breath of life. I am also thankful to my girlfriend, my family, my friends, and the greater community that I live in. I want to thank everyone who ever offered me a kind word or said anything that showed me the truth about myself. I am also thankful for the insights of the AA/NA programs, for giving me a new life.

I'm thnkful for this beautiful Sunday. I am thankful that I am alive. I am thankful that my mind is still intact and that I have not totally destroyed myself. I am thankful that I am still young. I am thankful that I have not alienated myself into oblivion. I am thankful that I am sober.

I'm grateful for my health. I am so lucky that I did not succeed in destroying my body completely during active addiction. I feel that my higher power has protected me during these dark periods of my life.
