A New Year and A Fresh Perspective - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

As I sit here on this second friday of 2005 and look back at the last 3 months of 2004 I am extrememly grateful for the gift of sobriety and the support of the group at SR.

I have been sober since October 18th and have this forum to thank for most of that. While I do not post much, the incredible stories and support of the ones of you who make such solid and regular contributions definitely have been a huge factor in my staying sober.

Just today my wife told me "I am so glad that I am not having to worry about alcohol anymore in your life. I feel like we are together and safe again,"

The changes I have seen in my mental outlook over the past 3 months has been amazing. I have gone from being depressed and hopeless to a place where my self confidence is back and I now look forward to each day and the challenges they bring.

So, once again, thanks to all of the people at SR who are so willing to share, help and be honest with us newbies. Please know that you impact us far more than you can know.
