| Day, by Day, by Day.....  | Grateful for today
I promised myself that I would start keeping a gratitude list. This seems like a great site. I am attending meetings when I can, trying to find a home group that I like, learning to feel comfortable in my own skin still. I am grateful for: 1. Being here 2. Being able to feel emotions (even the bad ones) 3. Being able to work, live and play 4. Grateful for having a family. Thanks for this site - I stumbled upon it, and when I am not able to attend a meeting, this has helped. |

Today I am grateful for - today! I didn't have it yesterday and won't have it tomorrow, but today I have today. I did what I had to do and let the rest unfold. the dogs are glad I let the rest "unfold". In their case it meant they got another walk!  almost forgot - very grateful I am sober at the end of my 15th day! Woo hoo!!! |

OK I know I sound like a broken record, but I am so grateful for this board and the amazing people on it! I am grateful for being able to have taken in some much-needed sunlight yesterday. (Hadn't been in sunlight for over a week prior to that!) I am grateful for my health today. I am grateful that God has removed my obsession to drink for the time being. I am grateful to be starting Day 16, which is a totally foreign number to me!

Grateful I made it through another year..... Grateful I still have my two dogs depsite the harasment from one neighbor that is trying to mess up our lives over the last 3 months......always coming up with something to upset us. Grateful I have my program in recovery......and the years I put into it..... Grateful for all the friends I have here for support.....

I am grateful for one more day today, and that I got to share my story to others tonight, for the first time, and I could tell that at least one person got at least one thing from it. It makes my heart feel good. I'd so much rather help someone who is suffering today, despite my fear, than hurt myself or another. I'm grateful for conscious contact! I can't even try to explain how 5 months ago I was dying from drinking alcohol, but today, not only do I NOT WANT alcohol, but as a bunch of extra bonuses I get to help others, enjoy my life, like myself, and have hopes & dreams.
