Bedtime Gratitude ~ Part 51
Grateful to witness alcoholism right in front of me at work and appreciating that I'm sober and not going through that anymore.
It was a big circus today at work. A guy I work with came into work drunk. He smells of alcohol many days. But this time he was drunk to the point where he was stumbling and literally not able to do much work.
While I was next to him I told him that I am an alcoholic but haven't drank in 22 years and that there is a solution to his problem.
He immediately identified and couldn't believe that I knew about what he was going through. He started crying and admitted he was an alcoholic and that he needed to quit and get help. He told me he used to go to AA.
Unfortunately for him the whole place knew he was drunk by the way he was acting. The plant manager later in the day had a talk with him and from what I hear he might be fired.
He came to me after this and started crying again. I said to him if he is fired that it's not the end of the world and this might be a blessing if it gets him to get back into AA or treatment.
We said a prayer together asking for God to help get him sober.
Grateful for doing unexpected 12th step work.

Grateful for a productive work week behind me and a nice weekend ahead of me. And oh so grateful that my little girl insisted that I open a gift from her tonight. I am now the proud owner of a new stylus (using now). Interesting that she sees me using the iPad so much now (usually on SR) and doesn't know that she is one of the biggest incentives for me to stay active on this site. I'm a proud daddy.
