Bedtime Gratitude ~ Part 49
Grateful I made it through my second day of work, even though my back and feet are in pain. Grateful to know that eventually I'll get used to being on my feet and it won't bother me anymore. Grateful to be sober and tired.
Grateful I had a package from UPS waiting for me when I got home from work. It was addressed to me and my dog and sent from my girlfriend. She sent us a care package with new doggy toys, treats, candy for me and a journal with some colored pens.
Grateful my dog played a little with a new toy. I haven't seen him play since the attack. Grateful he and his conehead actually met me at the door tonight which hasn't happened in so long!!

Grateful I didn't have to drink yesterday. I had a very stressful day at work. It comes with the territory. I'm in the process of learning something new again. During the learning curve of course there's going to be mistakes. And that means there's going to be some criticism, sometimes very harsh criticism.
And I felt they unfairly criticized me over something that was trivial and tried to make me feel incompetent. I'm not buying it. I could have gotten upset and fired back that this is bull like many other people do. But this time I took the high road and continued to work hard and focus on correcting my mistakes, even if it's mistakes that other people do and don't get criticized by it.
Grateful that I still stayed a few hours more after my 10 hour shift because the owner of the company asked me to. I was feeling down over what happened earlier and could have fallen into self-pity and said I couldn't do it. But again I took the high road and stayed while everyone else rushed home for Halloween night and the weekend.
Grateful I went to an AA meeting last night after coming home and feeling down. What better way to deal with this then to go to a meeting and share my experience, strength, and hope and hopefully help another drunk as well as help myself.
Grateful for the grace of God, AA, and this forum for getting me through these moments.

EQ, the thought of you being greeted again when you came home made me teary, that's so sweet.
UncleHolmes, that was awesome. You're a great role model.
Grateful to have spent some time working alongside my beloved today, with no disagreements or annoyances. We're a real team now.

Grateful for the end of Daylight STUPID Time!
And grateful I finally took my hiking group leader to the seafood place I was supposed to take him LAST fall. The leftover trout was better this evening at home with some lemon juice. Yum!
Love and hugs,
Eddie
