Bedtime Gratitude ~ Part 48
Grateful for one of my favorite love songs to come on the radio while driving in the car with my wife. We rarely go out anymore and both get consumed in our responsibilities.
While I was driving she suggested that we should go out to dinner. I said sure sounds like a great idea. Right after that while listening to the 70's station on sirius radio, the 1977 song "I'm in you" by Peter Framptom came on.
I love this song and cranked up the radio while holding my wife's hand.
Grateful for these feel good moments while being sober and not having to drink to go through these emotions.

Don't know why but I felt bored for most of the weekend and kept shoveling food in my face. I'm actually grateful it's Monday so I can get back to work. Go figure.
Grateful for close to fifty years with my dad, who passed away this early this morning.
And unbelievably grateful that Step Nine and GISHWHES brought me closer to him and allowed me to make amends so that I have no regrets.
Rest well, RLZ!!

((((Eddie))))
Grateful after ten hours of working, I only had a 15 minute drive home instead of an hour.
Grateful I can put up my Bro in Law on Friday night and not be ashamed of my home or have to hide the bottles.

I'm so sorry for your loss Eddie. A father is an important thing and losing one matters a great deal.
I'm grateful that the first day of school wasn't too awful.
I'm grateful that even though I sometimes lose some of my momentum I love my job and most of the people I work with.
I'm very grateful that tomorrow I will wake up sober.
I'm grateful for how SR makes me feel focused.

((((eddie)))) So sorry for your loss. But good to know that the steps can work with closure if we choose to work them.
Grateful to hang in there with these drain flies, or sewer flies, which look something like fruit flies.
They're all over the house and it's very bothersome. Told the landlord about them. She then contacted the pest control company, which said they don't come out to treat this and that the homeowner can do it.
So we're following the instructions that were given to us that can hopefully solve this problem. First put clear tape partially over all drains, sticky side down, overnight with lights on, cause drain flies are attracted to light, and check in morning to see which drains they're coming from, which we should be able to tell by drain flies sticking to tape.
Then use vinegar and baking soda in drains where these things are coming from. Hopefully we can resolve this problem because these drain flies are really being a pest.

May warm memories comfort you Eddie - I'm sorry for your loss
Grateful to all the men & women working to control our wildfires
Grateful it is payday so I could afford to have my garage door fixed when it broke a spring & wouldn't open this morning
Grateful for such an amazing teenage Son

Miss Eddie, so glad you had 50 years with your Dad.
Grateful to be able to share with you part of the eulogy I wrote for my Dad who I had for 44 years ...

Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything has remained exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me. Let my name be always the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well.

(((eddie))) Very sorry to hear about your father. It will remind me to be more patient with my father in whatever time we have left.
Grateful my little truck held up with a one ton palette of canned food in it. Grateful to make the delivery to a food bank.

Grateful I went to a meeting tonight and heard what I needed here. Grateful I got out of my funk somewhat today and went for a bike ride. Grateful for some time on the couch with my SO watching nature shows. Grateful he's always willing to give me rides to meetings. Grateful for another sober day.
Thanks, Astro, Marcher, MG, unc, Missy, Pan, Aly, RZ (not to be confused with Dad, RLZ), EQ, and jsm; especially Marcher, for the quote, and RZ, for reminding me Dad was proud of me (and making me cry, a good thing)!!
Grateful for my mom's sister, cousin, and cousin's wife taking us out to eat and bringing old pictures. Parents separated over 30 years ago, so Mom's been a little neglected in all the aftermath. Glad they came "down the mountain" to see her.
And grateful for my nutritionist again.
