Bedtime Gratitude ... Part 45 - All Are Welcome
Grateful a neighbor walked over and talked with me when I was out front today. I am quite shy so I am grateful, that being the newest person here, they are not giving up on me.
Grateful I painted more of the hall foyer and will soon be done. It takes a long time to cover dark cranberry walls....
Grateful I took advantage of the weather and took six huge pots and stuffed them to the gills with flowers. Grateful I don't have the big lawn and mega flower beds to care for anymore.
Grateful my Saturdays no longer consist of vodka in the early afternoon .....and doing nothing after the drinking starts except being depressed all night..... and hiding all of that from the people who love me.
Grateful to sit out back on my patio with a wrap on my shoulders, the radio on, the dog by my feet and a ginger ale in my hand.

Grateful for good camp food, a warm campfire, cozy sleeping bags, biting fish, and great company. Grateful that my son isn't too cool at 18 to go fishing with the old man
Grateful that I really have felt God in the room at the last two AA meetings I've attended. It happens when someone is really struggling and trying to talk about it.
Grateful for two people who have come into my life in the last month who I already feel are friends.
Grateful for a full tummy and a warm bed tonight.

I am so grateful for beautiful spring days and for the safe return of my husband and boys as they came home from four wheeling, left with 3 4wd vehicles and one 4 wheeler all in good working order, returned with one 4wd truck and one 4wheeler but the boys were all safe and unharmed. Looks like a project day tomorrow.
Happy Easter everyone.
Grateful to go out and see my son's high school track meet after I got off work this week.
Grateful that he came up to me with a few of his friends/teammates and said hi to me while I was standing behind the fence. He's a senior now in high school and I think he realizes that this is it, his final stages of high school. He never came up to me and said hi before when I went to watch his meets.
Grateful that he reached out for help and is pretty sure he has ADD.
Grateful I called a family meeting and told my two sons and wife that I think we should all go out together for a few nights on July 4th to a nice beach/campground/ or motel a few hours North of where we live and all four of us spend time together before my son starts college in August.
The only problem is my senior high school son wants to go tent camping with just the three of us (his brother and me). My wife doesn't like tent camping and would rather stay at a motel, understandably so, as most people would rather stay in a cabin or hotel/motel.
Then we brought up the idea that she could stay at a motel while me and my sons could go tent camping and all four of us could still hang out together at a very nice beach up there as well as putt putt golf, canoeing, and whatever else we want to do.
But my senior son is against this idea and thinks it's stupid that we're all going together but then are apart.
Anyone with ideas on this situation feel free to express them. But I really would like all four of us to go while my senior son only wants the three men to go.

A family is a family whether made up of blood related people or not. A holiday is a holiday if everyone is at the same destination whether in a tent or building. Let the men tent and enjoy, let the lady sleep comfortably and enjoy. Gather for good times and enjoy.

Unc, we have cabin rentals with campgrounds within walking distance. Anything like that in your area so you can all have the best of both worlds?
Grateful for the family that will be visiting today.

Grateful for a lovely time with family today at brunch.
Grateful I called a good friend, who I miss since moving, and he will try to come visit my new home this week.
Grateful I finally finished painting the hallway.
Grateful for some pictures of my grandson on Easter sent to me today.
Grateful for some much needed detachment from illusory feelings.
Grateful to accept my part in the cosmic play God has made.

Grateful to be tired and hoping I sleep through the night. Grateful for a good Easter dinner that I helped cook. Grateful for my bed, my car and that for right now I seem to get what I need. Grateful to be practicing some new breathing techniques I'm learning.
Grateful to live in a beautiful area, truly God's country. The aroma of flowers is in the air and the temperature is perfect.
Grateful for the lovey, purring, head-butting cat who is by my side whenever I am on the computer, reaching out with a front paw to be asked into my lap.
Grateful to live close to a great grocery store with everything I could want and more. Grateful to be able to afford to eat good healthy food (most of the time...and bags of potato chips at other times.)

Grateful for my first AA meeting, that even though I was so nervous that I said "have a blessed Christmas" to a gal (so I was a little early, or really late), overall, I managed to relax to the point where I am excited about my next meeting (just wish the drive wasn't so far - but it's my quiet thinking time!).
Grateful for a wonderful Easter dinner.....and I was able to enjoy it sober!
