Yes, Aly, the Gratitude List is like a reset button from the events, sometimes stressful, of the day. I am especially grateful that my Cat, Tixie, does not have anything seriously wrong from the Biopsy report today. She has a sensitivity to something, however. She is still going to wear her Cone Hat for another 10 days. I am so relieved that I will still have my Cat Tixie for some time to come.

Grateful that we made lots of delicious food on Sunday afternoon... so no cooking for lunches or dinners till at least Thursday!

Grateful to figure out in my view that sometimes being grateful can be like a paradox, such as being ungrateful before I can become grateful.

For example, it snowed at least one inch yesterday and was very brrrrr and we broke a record for the most snow ever. Now why would I be grateful for that?

Grateful that the snow on the ground looked pretty and that I was sober to enjoy it.

Grateful for people expressing their own creativity.

Grateful for freedom of speech.

Like a number of you grateful for that tired feeling, going with it and going to bed instead of numbing it.

Grateful I refused to stay at work without notice like they always expect me to. Grateful as the day filled with unexpected crises, I made it clear to my boss that I was leaving on time today (so she would have to adjust, not me.)

Grateful I drove home and took myself out for dinner and had a steak.

Grateful a drink did not occur to me as a way to unwind.

thanks astro

grateful yang was put to rest today

i told roger, you keep doing the next right thing, follow directions,

and someday you will be writing and playing music like you never thought possible

what roger wrote while sober

a far cry from the heavy metal headbanger music of days past

Hot running water. Every day it's at the top of my gratitude list.

Today, I'm also grateful for ibuprofen and Sudafed. I woke up with a sinus headache. Oh, and coffee and donuts.

Clean sheets tonight.

I am grateful for privacy and my bedroom which I can keep any way I want, depending on my mood. Grateful for the friends I'm making but also grateful for my alone time.

Grateful for all the progress I read about on this thread. It makes me so happy to see people recovering and doing so great in their lives. Recovery seems to become an amazing journey, I'm learning from people, it is also not easy and it's worth a lot. I'm still new but grateful for newbies and the wonderful vetrans who come around and let us know their lives are doing great for staying sober through it all.

Grateful for beautiful people. These people can be poor, rich, wear nice clothes, have bad hair, no teeth, shining eyes, overweight, skinny.....but they shine from inside, and in turn they become beautiful. Those are some of the best people you can ever know.

Grateful for being able to see beyond what others consider their faults to see them as the gem they really are.

Grateful to no longer be wearing beer/whiskey goggles - nice to see clearly.

Grateful for the wisdom on this thread. Grateful for reading about the drumsticks Rusty put in the casket and the beautiful song...both so moving and powerful in many ways.

Grateful that my Cat Tixie is back to clawing furniture and racing around the apartment! It's a good sign she is feeling better.

Grateful that I will have another year sober on 4/22. It's hard for even me to believe it will be 34 years...got sober in 1982. I was in AA meetings every day for the first 10 years. Weekends at least 3 Saturday and Sunday. I miss my old home group in the LA area. Soon will travel with my Sponsor up there to take my chips. And will take chips here in San Diego as well. Sober people anywhere have the most wonderful hearts and an aura about them that I can't put into words..but you guys know what I mean!!

Grateful for a nap I got in today after a very anxious morning. It felt so good, it's been so long since I've been able to take a nap!

Ipanema, congrats on the anniversary for your precious sobriety! ((()))
