Gratitude durring a breakup...

I just ended a really unhealthy relationship and I think I need a gratitude list right now. My sponsor says when I'm upset to write 10 things I'm greatful for, so I'l post it here.

I'm greatful for:

1. My sobriety 1 year and 2months :] every good thing in my life is a result of my sobriety and working the 12 steps.

2. The learning expierience because from here with the help of my support group I can grow and won't have to go through it again. I always feel better afterwards

3. That the painful parts are over forever, if I want them to be. (we do the break up/make up dance)

4. That he's out of the way so someday I can have the guy god indends for me :]

5. I dont have to be yelled at

6. I'll save a lot of money, he was an expensive boyfriend!

7. I dont have to worry about him relapsing and hurting me again or killing me

8. I dont have to worry about him hurting my parrot (he never has even been around my bird but if we moved intogether I'd worry, its always in the back of my mind)

9. I dont have to answer to him and submit to his every request

10. He cant ignore me, make me feel bad about myself, cheat on me, hit me or make me feel bad emotionally or physically.

So glad to hear you are taking your power back. You deserve so much better than that and someday you will find that love of your life! Someone who cherishes you and lifts you up. Thanks for posting that for us!

This made me smile. I am going through a recent breakup as well. It's tough but I know I'm better off, too.
