| I am grateful because...
...on October 20, 2008, I was trying to gather up enough courage to start up the car with the garage door closed. I thought I had no alternative and knew I did not want to live this life any longer. For some reason, instead, I summoned up enough courage to drive my very sick self to a detox centre. I had been drinking pretty well non-stop for 10 days. That Monday morning, I did not drink but I was a total wreck emotionally, spiritually, physically. Thank God I made the choice to start to live clean and sober. This has been quite a year, not perfect, not free of problems. However I can honestly say that the worst day this past year lived clean and sober is nowhere nearly as bad as my best day drunk.
For this I am truly grateful.
