Congratulations on your 1 year, Believe . Fantastic stuff!Grateful for friends and family Grateful to discover there are many different ways to get better - it's a case of tapping into the right one. Grateful for Scrabble over the internet to keep me busy when the work doesn't come in and I've cleaned the house, showered the cat, grouted the bathroom... Have a happy day, all. |

Grateful for a peaceful morning. Grateful for time to develop my creative side. Grateful for serene music playing in the background. Grateful for the cloudy day. Not sure why, but grateful for it just the same. Grateful for my Mom who celebrates her 69th birthday tomorrow. Making her lasagna and an apple cake. Grateful for my full life.

Grateful I got up the ambition to walk the dogs. Grateful that the sun is shining now and it's not raining. Grateful for the dogs sleeping peacefully on my rug.

Grateful that even though I can't sleep I can still find SR. Grateful that my computer works. Grateful that the internet works. Grateful for electricity. Grateful that in 5 hours I will be getting up with the average person that lives in this time zone.

Grateful for Footprints: One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Scenes from his life flashed across the sky and he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life had flashed before him, he recalled that at the lowest and saddest times of his life there was only one set of footprints. Dismayed, he asked, "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you would leave me." The Lord replied, "My precious child. I love you and I would never leave you. during your times of trial and suffering when you saw only one set of footprints... That was when I carried you."

Grateful to be feeling a bit better than this morning. Grateful for a visit from a friend. Grateful to be connected to the rest of the world just by sitting at my desk! The wonder of computers!

| Grateful for morning readings...
Monday, October 19, 2009 You are reading from the book Touchstones If only I could throw away the urge to trace my patterns in your heart I could really see you. —David Brandon Trying to control and change the people around us creates great problems in our relationships. When people we love are expressing themselves, we're thinking about what we wish they would say, and it blocks us from hearing clearly. A need for safety and for a guarantee that we won't be abandoned urges us to manipulate the people we love. We know we have innocent motives. We say we only want what is best and that we are only trying to protect ourselves or be helpful. But we hide from the effects our actions have on our relationships. We seem to be more trapped in these self-centered behaviors with the ones we are closest to. We can change ourselves by slowly releasing our security grip on others. We can focus more on understanding what others are saying to us than on changing how they think and feel. Intimacy is clearly seeing each other and knowing the differences as well as the similarities. It requires that both people be allowed to walk on separate paths. I will release my grip on my loved ones and turn to my Higher Power for security and serenity.

Grateful for a sunny day. Grateful to wake up sober and alive to the moment. Grateful that the 'dark' moods do pass. Grateful that I am able to do for myself and get around on my own power.
