| Thankful for "The Tools"
Wow, I had a rough couple of days--Know what it taught me? It taught me to be thankful for the tools I have acquired to deal with stress (which makes me want to drink, sometimes). I recognized I was thinking of drinking, I made a phone call to another alcoholic, I meditated, I prayed, I went to a meeting immediately and I shared my thoughts. Guess What? I got through without drinking--for me that was an absolute miracle. So that is why I say: I am so grateful for the tools and knowing what I can do to help me NOT drink today. |

Yeah red I think i know what you mean I'm grateful for all the advice I've received here on Sr-techiniques to use when tempted. It helps me feel more confident and takes away that "fear" I had at first that I would not be able to resist. I'd like to post again Tommy's technique from yesterday how i remembered it and which helped me yet agan when walking past a wine shop today: S-stop O -observe where you're at B- be aware of what buying that drink will bring about E evaluate whether it's worth it R React accordingly I'm grateful for that little reminder! it's a good one!
