Reminding myself to be grateful

Today I'm reminding myself to feel grateful.

Last night I got news that the project I'm working in will come to a stall and I will loose my job. My wife lost her job a couple of months ago and hasn't been able to find a new one. So I feel scared. I need to take a time out and quiet my non-stop inner talk, so I can put my priorities in order and remind myself what I'm grateful for:

1. I'm grateful for having found this way new of life
2. I'm grateful for having God in my life
3. I'm grateful for having opportunities for my spirit to grow
4. I'm grateful for my chance at life
5. I'm grateful for the chance to have my familiy back, my wife and daughter
6. I'm grateful for a bunch of awesome new friends, who don't use and have also found this new way of life
7. I'm grateful to be alive and breath

Wow, I've got nothing to be scared of!!! Sometimes I feel my faith weaken in times of trouble. I need to remember where I comew from and where I am today, being grateful for all those things that I despised while using. What meant nothing before, today means everything. I almost forgot, I'm also grateful for that change in perception!!!

Thanks

Your post reminds me of how much a gratitude list can change my perception. It is a wonderful tool and an appropriate attitude for a drunk like me living the sober life.
