| Gratitude Today I am very grateful for my legs. In 2/97 I was in a major car accident and crushed from the waist down. I had had a stroke at the wheel. Without going into all the details, it was first thought I wouldn't live through the night, secondly, if I did, they wanted to amputate my left leg (I wouldn't let them). Doctors from Louisville, KY to Roanoke, VA told me I would NEVER walk again. I spent three years in a wheelchair, have had a total of 37 surgeries and I walk because of the talent God placed in the hands of these surgeons. I am a miracle in every way. I have had a very difficult day with chronic pain, but it beats being in a wheelchair. And though the pain is so great today, I am so grateful to God for taking care of me and allowing me to walk again. |
