I am a 47 year old woman new to recovery. I have thought about being with women for many years but never acted on it out of shame. I was wondering if this could be an underlying cause of my over drinking and if anyone else had to deal with this? Not at all ready for a relationship but any advice/insight would be greatly appreciated!:

Hi and welcome to our corner of SR. You ask some good questions that made me think of a couple of previous threads. I think that those threads might help provide you with some of the answers you are seeking so rather than go into a long response here I am going to provide the links to them. http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ard-place.html (Hot Mess....rock and hard place)

If you still have questions after reading those or if you find you have more please feel free to ask.
Sorry for the delayed response I have been sick the past few weeks and away from the computer.

Depression is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of being too strong for too long.
