Hey everyone, I'm from the USA and I'm a compulsive over eater. I'm 19 years old, and I joined OA yesterday. Basically I'm looking for a sponser, someone around my own age to relate too. If anyone could possibly help me somehow, please let me know. London |

hi London! I'm not your age; I'm not a woman, and I'm not in OA, but I did want to say welcome to the forum and congratulations on deciding to travel the path of recovery. I say recovery because it doesn't matter if it is nicotine, food, sex, alcohol, drugs or even work - addiction is addiction - and it's good you are reaching out. There will be other people along who know the site much better than I and will be able to give you more appropriate info than my mere welcome. I'm sorry I couldn't have been more help; but support is here for you. best wishes - and keep at it.

I too wanted to say welcome to SR. Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic. Being in AA, Ive been able to pass on my own experiences, strengths and hopes with others struggling with addiction in order to keep my own sobriety and live a happier joyous, freer life in recovery. Having the tools and knowledge of my addiction to alcohol, ive been able to remain sober for the past 22 yrs of many one days at a time added together to get me where I am today. Listening, learning, absorbing all we can is a perfect way to begin building a solid foundation in recovery. One step at a time.
