Always trying to stay on my side of the street but my son's girlfriend and her enabling ways are driving me crazy! The girl is in such denial, - refuses to open her eyes to what's going on. She's not helping him and her whole thought process about his addiction is so warped. I don't talk to her anymore because it's just too toxic for me.

Good plan. We are powerless over others, addicts and codependents alike (even though we'd like to shake some sense into them).

Keeping your son in my prayers and hope his own attempts to get and stay clean is not undermined by what anyone else thinks.

I was that person for a long time with my XAH. I had never had any exposure to addiction, and had no knowledge under my belt. I was also brought up to be a "fixer." It took a lot of education, and a lot of counseling to understand it all.

I agree, step away. It will only drive you crazy to watch it play out.
