And sometimes there's a good day?
And sometimes there's a good day?
Friday. Son gets out of work early on Fridays. His pay is deposited into my checking account and I dole it out to him in small amounts, after his bills are paid. Our arrangement. No one else has to approve or like it; it works for him. Today he walked out of here with $50 from his check, the most at one time in a long long time. He's heading straight to the girlfriend's house after work, getting showered and dressed there, then father's day shopping and for dinner together, and she's going to go to an Open Meeting with him. I have a good feeling about today; only a very small voice in my head is saying "FIFTY BUCKS??!!" That voice is getting quieter, though. He's been through a lot. He has his eye on where he wants to be. Only he can make it happen.

Everyone's financial arrangement in a recovery situation is their own business.
It does involve trust by the giver to the recipient, and it sounds like you are both working on making this situation work for you.
I know my parents and I have been through variations of how their financial support has been done, some better than others- and this mostly a direct result of how honest and responsible I was being!- and now we are at a much better place. I do not lie to my parents about what I need money for, what I can pay for, and what I need when I ask or use it for. We are past the point of my earnings going straight to my mom, but we did a similar thing to you at a point.
I hope he has a great, healthy and responsible weekend and you have a good, and trusting, one too!!
