Lifestyle, supplements & steroids catch up to abuser-stroke

The alkie/addict here who has abused alcohol, drugs including several kinds of steroids and sports supplements for decades suffered a mini stroke. Warned about high blood pressure. Apparently he went through a week that included a perfect high risk combination of events, conditions and substance use.

The testosterone substances may have caused the high bp while anti inflammatory steroids may have contributed to a blood clot among other things. Dr said he was lucky that it only affected some vision so far.

Temporary attitude change but that's been going back to the usual. The denial or minimizing of life style and chemicals keeps on moving.

It is sad that addiction takes over that part of the brain that would reasonably figure out that this is a downward spiral that will crash some place not good if he doesn't stop.

But he is in denial and continues to use.

What about you? What are your plans for taking care of you in all this?

You can't make him stop, if love could stop an addict then none of us would be here.

But you can stop living in his addiction and begin living in your own recovery and find a better path. I hope you can find your way to doing that soon.

Hugs
