OT: Checking In
Hi, all...
Still in a cast. We buried our mother today. I'm experiencing a strange combination of relief and desolation. Just wanted to thank those who either responded to my thread when Mom passed two weeks ago and to those who PM'ed me directly.
I should be back on active duty here in about 2-2 1/2 weeks. Hope everyone is well.

Thinking of you and your family, Zoso. It's a difficult process and you will probably experience many different feelings. I hope in time, the primary feeling is of gratitude for the wonderful memories you had with your mom.

Well, she's finally with my father again after 36 years. And she's with all her brothers and sisters.
I put my Eta Kappa Nu (electrical engineering honor society) cord in her casket before they closed it up. She didn't see me finish grad school two years ago when I wore my cord. But she has it now...forever.

Prayers for peace! Losing your parent (no matter what their age) is difficult and painful. I am glad you were able to be there and share the celebration of her life.
Looking forward to "seeing" you again soon Zoso!

I am so sorry for your loss. Glad that you had such a good relationship with your mother and cherished her so much. That must have meant the world to her.
Take care, my thoughts and prayers are with you,
