He has a lot to prove. So much to prove to himself. It's good your going to get peace but I know all too well about the future tripping. Try very hard to take one day at a time.

That is where you focus needs to be, on YOU. He is being given every opportunity to recover, or not. That is up to him and his care providers.
Now you have to let it go and take care of YOU.
