Waaaaaaaaaaaa O.T.

I am going to handle this like a mature adult.

Apparantly.............. I really really really DID NOT think that I did.....

But I did.........

I ran a red light. I must have just barely ran it, cuz I coulda sworn it
was yellow. BUT big brother does not lie now does he.

BUT

HE has NO PROBLEM

charging me

$500.00 dollars.

I swear, someone up there is making sure I am learning a lot of lessons this month.

I'm not saying they aren't my fault, but damn..... For the life of me I seem to never stay out of trouble...

I am not saying it wasn't my fault, but this intersection is one of the slowest in this city that I was in. Such a money maker.

YET, I can't get my tax money back from my taxes causes California is to broke.

Okay, I'm done crying poor me......

I go to the gym now and lift some weights!

I agree with DeVon...OUCH!!! That really sucks about your taxes!

Any chance they'll work out a payment plan? I ask because, ya know, I went to court on tickets that were...um 4 years old, over $4000 and they were making payment plans for a lot of people. If you explain you can't pay right now because the state can't pay YOU, maybe they can work something out?

Sorry, sweetie. Too bad this wasn't the red light you ran out of gas at, huh?

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

To be honest, not an excuse, just honest, I was running out of gas
AGAIN, that is why I didn't stop......

I am ususally really good about stopping, and I really didn't think
I was going to run the light, I still don't know how I ran it,
it has JUST TURNED YELLOW, I am paranoid about running those
things, I haven't had a ticket in like 8 or 9 years or longer even,
and the last one I had was for
"Stopping OVER THE LIMIT LINE".....

I am a good driver.

My gas tank is confused, it really is, it thinks it is out of gas
when it isn't.
and I could tell it thought it was again.

I know some of you are rolling your eyes at me, but something is
wrong with it, I heard it was the censor,
whenI ran out on my birthday and I had a half a tank, I just
turned a corner too fast.

I was right by Costco and was going to go get some gas,
but I had two corners to turn, so I was nervous,
lol.

I need to get it fixed, but ya know, that money issue.

I don't know about the payment thing, I don't think they will
work with you, I know they don't give a damn about my
taxes, but I will see if I can.

Someone else told me maybe I have water in my tank........

Meh.............

I think they still sell mac and cheese in a box for about $0.30 each, and you can get generic shampoo for less than $1.50!!!

Sorry for the financial hit! This, too, shall pass.

Hugs, HG

Done, My old car (89 Mustang-that I had to sell to pay our bills) had the opposite problem........it would register 1/2 tank however it was actually empty. I did't get the sensor fixed either, too much $$,and I get a discount. I would calculate how many miles I would get to a tank, and then fill it when I got close.

Hope things get better for you real soon.
Hugs,
Chris

Yea, see I think there is a sensor in there and you have to keep that
sensor wet, or it has to have gas on it, IF it doesn't have
gas on it, that is when it gets confused.
I forgot how I think that, but I'm sure that is what it is,
If you swerve really fast back and forth sometimes that helps.
But if you run out, it takes like 3-4 gallons or 4 walks to the
gas station to fill it back up.....

So much FUN! LOL

Did you get a ticket from an officer, or from a red light camera? Because if it was the camera, it is a lot less (75 dollars, here). If it was an officer, go ahead and request the court date. That will postpone the payment until court, and if the officer comes to court that day (they miss court sometimes due to illness or other arrests) and if you have a fairly good driving record for the past few years, you could plead your case and ask for a PBJ (thats probation before judgement, not a peanut butter and jelly!). A PBJ will usually cost about $65 for court costs, still a lot less than $500. Dress in a suit, be pleasant, honest, and quiet. IF the officer doesn't show, plead not guilty and you will win automatically. You don't need a lawyer for this matter.

Love,
KJ

I got it from a camera, that's why I thought I wouldn't get it.
It happened to me one other time and I never got it.
(I knew it was yellow).

It has the pretty little picture of me squinting looking right at the light
I am right on the line and the light is red.

It is $435.00 and for traffic school it is $75.00 so it's right over
$500.00 which actually, my boss just was speeding going way
over the speed limit, like 90 and it ends up being closer to $110.00 by the
time you are done with all the fees, so it will be more.

I don't know if you will know this or not though KJ, but I was wondering,
it says on my ticket that I have to pay this by 4/29, if I plead
"Not guilty" I have to pay , which I can't see how I can get out of it,
so I am wondering how or if there is a way I can go to court
to get a payment plan, or at least an extension.....
That's a lot of money awfully fast.

all I can see on there is a number to call if
you are a juvenile or if that is not you.

I guess I can call that number and ask them.
Been on overload the last day, didn't get a chance today.

oh yea, my driving record is perfect, before this, haven't had a ticket in 6 or so years,
and the other one was for stopping over the limit line.

Oh and ....... the lady who "Proccess" these photo tickets?
Her son is a "Rebel" if you wanna call him that, and he thinks it's funny
to drive all over town and "Run" red lights so he puts his face up to the
window and makes faces so his Mom will see him.
His Mom gets rid of them.
Yea nice eh......
My friend is one of his best friends......

Dumb..........

Ahhh, poor Ms Done!!!
That sucks.
I'm sorry.
But, you should be able to get a payment plan, I would think.
Let us know what you find out, ok?

Shalom!

lol, Life's little lessons we learn.

I'm trying to think this one may save my life one day.

$500 is cheaper than a casket or a hospital bill, right?

I will sure as hell think before I even think about running
any flicker of a yellow light ever again.....

That could be why, so I will just say Thank You God or
whoever for teaching me this
expensive lesson, just please let me make payments......

ughhhhhh

My son recently got a ticket for $751. He couldn't pay it, and went to court. His was for driving with no insurance. Once he proved that he currently had insurance (he did not have any at the time of the ticket), the judge reduced the fine to $10. We had to sit through court and hear a lot of other people's tickets and a lot of them were running red lights. They will reduce the fine and give you time to pay the reduced fine. You can also ask to do community service in lieu of paying the fine. The judge we had in the Bay Area in California was very nice and understood people were having a hard time in today's economy.

Just be sure to go to court prior to your due date. Just a heads up, our local court has traffic court 3 days a week and only takes the first 50 cases. We had to get in line 1 1/2 hours prior to court starting to be able to be one of the 50. Lots of people going to court because they can't pay.

Good luck!

Call Motor Vehicles and ask what options there are for you. It is certainly expensive, and I hope they let you make payments. I personally don't agree with the cameras. Officers can evaluate circumstances and decide if a ticket is appropriate based on them (sometimes someone is in a totally clear intersection at 3am and the light isn't functioning, or they are sick or whatever), but I don't agree with a camera giving tickets at all. I think it's a money-making scam.

Love,
KJ
