| Court today...I think...
Good morning all, Well, I do believe yesterday was the start of oldest sons court trial. To refresh you memory, he was arrested related to a phone conversation that gave "Intent to sell" and plus, most likely a variety of other charges, I know nothing about. So...his attorney decided they are doing a trial.....if he is found guilty he can get up to 10 years due to the fact it is his 4th offense...3 jail stints...and oh well....what is...is. It was kind of nice that he was out of jail for a year and a half... But it seems to me, and heaven knows this is just MY opinion....he still just doesn't GET it, ya know what I mean? AND he may never GET it. He did call yesterday..I missed his call..(oh darn) and he was to call back, and never did. I spoke with him last week, he was playing the sympathy card..(we should take him out to dinner because we may not see him for 10 years.. I have NONE of the past emotions I have gone through, dealing with his probable future. I gave a prayer and sent it up, and feel good. Recovery is GOOD for me! Hugs...

Dearest Diane, I am sorry your son is going through this, but like mine he brought it on himself. You are doing great in light of it. I will pray for your son that he gets what will help him the most. You & your family are in my prayers, Love, Diane |

Well said Moosie...well said. I've often thought of how I would react should my son find himself in jail/prison. I surely don't know, but I do know that I would make it through...because of those like you who share and prepare. I wish your son the best...and you and Mr Moose of course

You are a great example of what recovery can do - just because the addict is in trouble, doesn't mean we are. That our moods aren't dependent on what is going on in the addict's life - good or bad. I never knew that could be possible. You really live the "it's just another day in the neighborhood". I'm proud to know you. Love in recovery, Jody Hepler |

Yes siree, Moose. And you wear it darn well. I truly believe your a beast. lol That's a good thing, btw. Part of today's bizarre lingo. Beast! Meaning you can handle any bs that's thrown at ya. Sending a prayer up for your son. That whatever the outcome, he will truly learn from the experience. Love ya, Linda

Although I'm not sure how much it has to do with recovery.... You finally get to a point where you say "ENOUGH!" and then you go out and buy new shoes...

| Hi Moose
Gosh, I'm sure sorry to hear about your son's new charges! That's the pits! It drives me crazy that they don't "get it" yet! Mine's the same. After all these years you have no options left but to just get on with your life and pray one day they will see the light. When my son plays the "sympathy" card now, I play the "you had a choice" card! I can relate to the new emotions! My son called and said he may have to stay for another 3 months, and I actually was hoping he would! Unfortunately, now he says only an extra 20 days! DAMN! Sounds hateful huh? But you know what I mean when they are away they're safe and clean! Nothing left for us to do but turn it over to our HP, and let Him decide what the future holds. Hugs, Devastated |

I do need some new "winter" clothes. Ugh. I didn't even want to say that word. I do agree with the "enough" part. There's a saying on where you find sympathy in the dictionary that I use quite often with my AD. It works well with me. Give none, get none. You are a shining star in my book and thanks for all the hope you've given that there is life beyond our AD's.

Moosie, Your recovery is shining. And we moms know it isn't that you don't love him with every fiber of your being...it's just that you love him enough to let him live his own life and walk his own path. Things will unfold as they should. Perhaps Dev can point you to the area of the store with nice thread counts for sheets should the need arise. Love ya Cats

I thought it was the full moon that was shining through my window, but now I think it must be you, Moose, just glowing with all your hard found wisdom. Hugs, Marle

(((Moose))) I'm so glad that you can let this go and let HP do whatever HE thinks is best. It took a long, long time for me to accept that worrying doesn't do any good, even though I know it. I still slip, but I've got you, and other's here, to remind me how to get back on track. Hugs and prayers! Amy

It's strange how after time, we feel empowered to take back OUR lives. Heck it took me 30-something years, the son is 35 now. He called the other day, it was his birthday. He said "hey mom I'm halfway to 70!" I said "oh yeah...I'm halfway to 106" Time to start living, and dancing, and laughing.....

| Hi Moose
WOW! You're just a kid! I'm halfway to136! From now on I would appreciate your addressing me as Mrs. Dev! You actually learned faster than me. I think I'm coming up on 35 years! OMG Yep, Moose, I've been having way too much fun for the past 3 years. Now I've gotten very selfish with the years I have left and refuse to let my son get me down! From now on, he's on his own! He called last night and said he needed money on his books because they have sealed his account (money he earned) 'cause he's getting out next month. He said he needed toothpaste! I said brush with salt! I'm not sending you money 'cause I just send a care package to our troops. You know the ones that are out there in the dessert fighting! The ones that ask for nothing! Get a clue. Man, have I gotten hateful or what?? Hugs, Devastated |

Wow, Dev...you've come a long way, from what I've read ((Moose)) - I like your attitude about aging. Next week I will be halfway to 94! And it took me halfway-to-92 to figure out there's life after being a codie! Hugs and prayers! Amy

Reclaiming our lives is a tribute to the gift of life itself and it sure feels good to me too. The pain we have all been through is very fresh in my mind, but knowing we never have to go there again, at least not unarmed now that we have some good recovery under our belts gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, ya know? The Mooselet is in my prayers every day, all our kids are, but tonight I am going to say a special "Thank You for the Mamas who walk with me" because you all are a big part of why I am okay today too. And Moose, I hope that is the new bullet-proof lipstick that Hangin' and I swear by these days, the kind that stays put and doesn't come off on coffee cups. I just KNEW that one day we'd convert you.

I swear to all of you I will take pictures when Moose introduces that new product to Ann and Hangin' In. It will be a kodak moment, and perhaps a contender for America's Funniest Home Videos. Moosie, you always crack me up. ALWAYS
