Top Ten Reasons SR Rocks
10. The sense of community and friendship among perfect strangers is truly amazing.
9. The smiley/angry/sad faces. Although I do think a "value add" would be to have one flipping off the world!
8. Experienced members "pay it forward" to new members, allowing us to benefit from what did - or did not - work for them.
7. Not only can we get thoughts from family and friends of addicts, but often recovering addicts as well.
6. The practically instant response to a new thread is priceless, especially in crisis/desperate situations.
5. People tell it like it is. Exactly when you need to hear it. Even if you don't want to hear it.

3. Whether a frequent poster or silent reader, the amount of knowledge, experience and feedback within this site is an incredible resource to all those affected by addiction.
2. This site isn't only about addition. Its about new friendships, safety in numbers and survival.
1. When no one else "gets it" and you feel so unbelieveably alone, there is great comfort in the knowledge that someone here knows exactly what you're going through.

An atmosphere of acceptance provided by so many of the members here is one thing that I value about SR. Having a safe place to learn, vent, have some fun or just read while knowing that there is no judgement made by my fellow travelers in the recovery journey is priceless.

Knowing I can reach out anytime, day or night, and there will be someone here to talk to.
Getting a PM from a newcomer thanking me for something I said...and I don't even remember saying it.
Friendships, camaraderies, and a bond with my recovery family here that is second to none.

Learning that I am not the only one who has developed a sick sense of humor as a result of dealing with the disease of alcoholism/addiction -
Ok, ok - so maybe I was a little sick & twisted before - But Step 4 just helped bring out my Character Assets!! -
