Lifetime Movie Network...anyone watch last night?
I watched a movie on LMN last night.
Can't remember the name, dang it, but it was about drug dealing and addiction.
By a single mother. She lived in a rundown neighborhood and waited tables for a living. A "friend" of hers got her into delivering drugs for a dealer.
Next thing ya know, she's smoking meth. She suffered big time, but her children were really and truly the ones suffering. It was heartbreaking to watch.
After her oldest son, who was maybe 12, if that, helped her to detox at home, yeah, she went to work with the FBI to "catch" the bad guys. It was based on a true story. She and her sons now live in the Witness Protection Program.
It was a good movie and very believable as far as addiction progresses.
The actress who played her is one of my favorites, Diane Keaton. She's wonderful.
There's a repeat of the movie coming on at 2:39 pm today.
If your so inclined...watch it.
Careful, of triggers. It has many.
Let me know whatcha think.
Always,
Linda

I've seen that....its called On Thin Ice......its pretty good but could trigger.
Theres another lifetime movie I saw a while back. I think its called Raising Arizona but I'm not sure. Its about a girl who gets involved in drugs and her mom and dad do everything they can to get her off but it doesn't help. They finally end up sending her to a wilderness camp to live. Its also based on a true story.

giggles. I like to watch "House" because in my codie-smugness, I think "Yep, there's that addict behavior! They're all alike!" giggles.
I always tell the addict that: "You think everything is OK because you are on the inside looking out through the haze. I'm on the outside looking in....and it doesn't look so good."
Maybe watching those shows is a way that I remind myself what it's like to be on the outside looking in at codie ME.
