positive affirmations
I like...
"Be patient. The best things happen unexpectedly."
"He loved her of course, but better than that, he chose her day after day." (Sherman Alexi)
Guess the second one is not really an affirmation, it just resonates with me.

One affirmation that caught my attention a while back:
Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

I like this one lately, may not be "positive" in a regular sense but an important affirmation for me to remember lately so I wanted to share:
"So fail, fail again, fail better. It's like how to get good at holding the rawness of vulnerability in your heart"
"So fail, fail again, fail better. It's like how to get good at holding the rawness of vulnerability in your heart"
My new favorite is:
"Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything. Maybe it's about unbecoming everything that isn't you so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place."

Nice, FireSprite!! ^^^
Reminds me of this (almost certainly fictitious) quote from Michelangelo, regarding how he created his sculpture of David: It was easy. I just got a block of marble and chipped away everything that didn't look like David.
Yep, no problem at all, right?

Two years ago I wouldn't have even thought about using "alcoholic" at the end. I had my head so far down in the sand. Denial - but I honestly didn't (couldn't?) put two and two together.
Now it seems that is what it actually should be (vs. a$$h).

I remember that HP - something about how he doesn't create the masterpiece, he just frees it from the marble? Yeah, not a Codie, that one.
Reading a Brene Brown book last night & she referenced this quote, which stuck with me:

Lyssy - I printed Snoopy for my desk at work. I love it!
This one is inspiring to me even though it's a bit different. It reminds me of those days when doing our best means acknowledging that we AREN'T at our best that day.
At my office, we each have a copy of this pic & we display it in our work areas on "those" days to let others know about our humble, mental state:
(one day my boss actually text it to me with a note saying she'd had an awful, sick night & wouldn't be in & to just let her know of any emergencies. I laughed so hard at how she carried the theme over into that communication, haha!)
