Got it years ago, as a kid in Michigan.

IRL, (in real life) I cannot go more than maybe a couple of minutes -- tops -- talking about this "stuff," -- Alanon, Rehab, T, all that stuff -- without getting choked up and "peanut butter mouth" -- like when a dog eats peanut butter -- and I start mush-mouthing and gagging.

Dunno if you have ever watched Mel Tillis -- an "Old Country" singer. He stutters and can barely speak a full sentence. But he can sing flawlessly, I suppose flawless if one likes Old Country.

But it turns out the same for me. While I cannot talk this "stuff," I can sing it. So I figured if I am ever going to do "my story" for Alanon, I would have to sing it. So I started writing the songs and the music a couple of years ago.

I had a tiny cassette player and I listened and sang loudly when I was stationed in Germany.
I drove the doctors to Frankfurt to get to their duty stations in the desert.
Luckily for me, there was a governor on the speed. hehehehe
But on the way back, wow! loud and strong!

Yes, I sure do remember Mel Tillis. He was (?) one of the best country singers.
I think on Hee Haw (a show I never missed) they would have him talk as one of the comedy bits.

I do like old country. And bluegrass.

So now, when talking about feelings, it gets stuck in my throat.
I cannot speak, but I do not want to break down either.
The people at alanon will wait for me to get it out. Every little bit feels so good.
