Alcoholic grandparents

Hello! I just joined on the recommendation of a friend who said she had seen a few great articles on here about the effects of Alcoholism on children/grandchildren. Would anyone be able to point in the direction where I could find them? I did some browsing on my own but was a little overwhelmed by the amount of content here! I could sit here all night reading the articles ... was getting a little distracted and I need to focus on the real reason I came.

We are trying to establish some boundaries with my husbands parents (who are divorced, and suffer from alcoholism). We had a baby within the last year and we are now faced with how to handle visits, etc as she grows up. Just getting my toes wet here so any resources you can recommend would be very much appreciated.

TIA! qtpi

I don't know....your situation is out of my experience range.

However...if you have not yet read the sticky post at the top
of this Forum...I do think that is a good starting point.

Blessings to all of you

I have gotten some help from Al-anon also. I did not grow up with active alcoholism, but I think both my parents did. I got to this site (and Al-anon) for another person in my life, but both have helped immensely about my family stuff that honestly i don't think I even recognized on my dad's side of the family.

The Adult Children Side of SR might help also. That is the side that in general has put me in closest touch with my family pieces.

I think these are some links in the ACOA forum that you might start with:

http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ic-family.html

The breaking the cycle one is excellent.
