Musical Insight

Hi all,

Been lurking, exploring, living life one day at a time.

I've seen others post from time to time about music that inspires them in different ways, whether it is to get through the pain of the alcoholic/addict in our life or to just help ourselves.

I've been listening to an indie band I discovered years ago every day as of late. I never really absorbed the lyrics to all their songs until the past few months, while AS has been getting her life back together and trying to get my life together as well. I discovered the lead singer/songwriter has been fighting his demons for years (detailed in magazine interview) and many of his songs detail the demons he battles in trying to remain sober and gives you unique insight.

Not sure if it appropriate to post the name of the band or not, I'll just give you a couple of songs that really "hit home" and perhaps you can Google it or search i tunes to discover the band and the insight the songs give into addiction. "Mama I'm Scared" and "Blackout" are two of the songs that come to mind, but also other elements "woven" into other songs.

If anything, the songs give me strength and some understanding, plus they sound really good in my opinion.
