| Vent alert!
Warning this post contains ranting and raving The next two months of my life cannot go quickly enough. I think I have said the serenity prayer 10 times in the last 15 min. This a.m. I check the bank acct to make sure my paycheck went in and it did but there are 4 $34 overdraft fees (AH's ATM habit overdrafted the overdraft protection). Of course this comes out of MY paycheck. While I am on the phone with the bank trying to figure out if they screwed up or if it's AH fault, AH calls to say that he got called into the office at work again but does not know why (um probably cause he has been warned not to call into work and he did it again last week). So I tell him that he overdrafted the bank acct and he MAYBE he should evaluate his lifestyle and attitude. His response it that I am GIVING HIM TOO MUCH STRESS! Without screaming or yelling I calmly say again that maybe he should think about how he conducts himself and that I really need some time away from his drama (he is insisting on coming to florida with my son and myself next week). He will not lose his job (union, almost impossible to get fired) but he will be miserable (and drunk) all week now and I will be forced to move all the money into my checking and savings and change all my bill pay stuff (I as hoping to avoid that until I file as to not tip him off, my attorney is going to put an injunction on his 401k to keep him from emptying it when I file). I am not cut out for all this crap, I guess I am not codie enough. |

How about changing the ATM habit? Report the cards missing, change the password and keep one only for yourself. Don't know if it would work in your situation - his reaction, etc. What does your attorney think?

It could cause problems with the divorce, his paycheck goes into that acct too. I am going to have my paychecks put into my accts from now on and pay most of the bills out of that and leave his bills (car, ins, cell etc) to debit out of the joint account. My attorney (who is a partner at the firm I work at) told me that I should be able have my year end bonus deferred so it is not included on my income before I file. | |

Sounds like you have a plan... try to keep yourself safe financially until it can be put in place... ((hugs))

Drive you mental almost some days, dont they!! My paycheck always went into my separate account, and his went into our joint account. (not so silly, hey!) At the moment the joint account is overdrawn because he had something direct debited from there and I REFUSE to put money in there so he can blow it on alcohol. So I know how you feel. |
