Complete 180 turn

HI guys!! So about a week ago I went to the school health dept. and got checked out. Two days later I got my depression med. perscription. So far so good.

On top of that my "life line" girl has been calling me everyday. Even tho shes 4 hrs. away from me when she tells me to do somethign I do it. I remember at one meeting I went to when I was 15 and older gilr their explained what a " higher power" is. She went thru the whole whether it is who you call God or along those lines. she went one to explaing to this one boy the same age as me at the time that ev en if its a head of lettuce, as long as it make sus feel better, we can consider that our higher power. The other boy who was my buddy tried the head of lettuce idea. I knew it was a metephor or what ever but hey talking to a head of lettuce made him fell better.

I guess what I'm tryign to say is that this girl has to be my higher power cause since shes been calling me and talkign to me I have been feeling so much better latley.

There are lots of people on these boards who will be there to lend an ear, so I hope that makes you feel better too. However, just because someone makes you feel better does not mean, necessarily, that they are your Higher Power. It's kinda tough on this girl if you decide she is your Higher Power because she is only human. We humans will let one another down from time to time because that is our nature.

Talking to a head of lettuce, a can of Coke, a piece of chocolate (YUM!) may make you feel better, but I think the idea of the H.P. is to find something out there in this universe we all feel is consistent, always there, and all-knowing. Fruit rots. People die. A H.P. should be our strength, our guidepost, and something we can really cling to when the going gets tough.

Do you think you might be putting a bit more pressure on this girl than she can handle if you get into some really tough times and expect her to be your source for all the answers you need? I am happy you have found someone who is helping you to feel better, but it might be wise to seek something else for a H.P.
