I've noticed references to something called "public groups."

Can someone tell me what these are, and what purposes they serve?

Hmmmm. Then who does know?

More specifically, each member's "profile" has a section titled: "Group Memberships." Mine, for example, states that I do no belong to any "public groups."

Any ideas?

Right now everyone is in the "registered" group. We could have secondary groups, but it's too much work for us so we don't do it.
