I feel really stupid when it comes to things like this, but I haven't the faintest idea how to start a blog. Can anyone tell me in VERY simple instructions? I'm pretty simple when it comes to tech stuff...

Hi Susan,

On the top of your screen, near where you would click for New Posts, you will see a Blog drop-down button. Click on that and select 'Your Blog' - it will bring you to a screen where you will have a menu of options on the left. To start a blog, select 'Post to your Blog' - and it should be pretty straightforward from there.
