I don't know all the history least, or who started it. I'm interested to know too. My join date changed after a crash not too long ago so I'm not sure but .......... I was thinking, I know I joined SR while my mom was still drinking. In June she just had her 6th year sober. I've been around a while but there are a lot who've been around longer; may be they can solve the mystery.

It's extremely gratifying to read how generous people are with their support and expertise, and to watch someone take their first steps on the path to recovery." As of Sept. 2, 2003, 100,000 posts in the forums. I wonder how many now!! Thanks for that link MG, I had never seen that.

Thank you so much for the info. I depend heavily on this site to keep me sober, tho I've had many relapses since I joined in March this year. Hoping my present effort will continue, and with the help of the members here I have a lot of hope that I will stay sober this time. Thanks again! |

Jon is beautiful. Is he still involved in any way? This is my favorite paragraph from the first story. User-Friendly (in a Good Way) At SoberRecovery.com, the word "user" has a dual meaning. The goal is for people who are self-medicating with food, alcohol or drugs of any kind (to deaden pain, mask emotion or vent frustrations) to use the site instead and get the relief they need as quickly and easily as possible. "It's not uncommon for people to make their commitment to sobriety in the dead of night," says Heller. "And when someone is ready to call it quits we want to remove as many obstacles as we can to keep people in the fast lane on the road to recovery." The SoberJob idea is great too. I've been out of work since January, and I'm still looking. I do have a job interview with yet another temp agency tomorrow....May the universe blow me some good fortune...I'm soooo ready. |
