| recovering | question about PMs
just wondering what is the limit for how many PMs can be stored. I'd like to keep the ones sent me as they have some good info and support. I like to reread them when I feel down. thanx!

(((Least))) I think it's 55 that can be stored. It will let you know when it gets close to that limit. When I get something I really want to keep, I highlight the post....hit Edit on my tool bar, then copy. Then I go to e-mail, put my address in the send part, and in the body of e-mail, hit "paste" and the post is put there. Then I save the e-mail. I'm sure there are other and better ways to save stuff, but it works for me and there are a lot of good things I've gotten here that I want to save. Hugs and prayers! Amy

That's a good way to do it Amy. Or, you can just copy the PM and paste it into a Word document.

you can also go down to the drop down 'selected messages' menu in your inbox and outbox (the one that usually says 'move to folder') and download the mssgs you select/tick to your PC in a few formats...text is one of them...(I'm not geeky enough to know about the others) not as pretty as Word, but you'll have them... also right down the bottom of the page, you'll see Download all Private Messages as: XML | CSV | Text this'll dump everything to your PC D

I think the count is 100 total (a mix of both sent and received) If you really need them...download them. The site crashed a while ago and the ones I had saved went *poof*

thanks all, I can barely understand my computer's workings but the "download all PMs as... text" I think I can understand. I will do a trial run and see how it works. thanks all!! I see the "move to folder" drop down menu now. I think I can, I think I can...

You don't know how long I have been trying to figure this one out! Silly me, all I had to do is to look at this post, or just ASK! Thanks! And, I figured it out. Downloaded it as text. I was thinking there should be folders that you could create here, and drag the messages to the folders. But, I don't think so...I tried it and nothing happened... Thanks for the info!! Honu |
