I found one I liked and added it and now it's gone. could someone please put it back for me? thank you.computer dummy

I see no avatar, only a square with a red x in it. I even went to the user cp to select it again only it wasn't there. how come you can see it and I can't? and why did it disappear in the first place? thanks
