I have not used the chat since the repair so this is just a guess...

The old chat, you had to sign up for just like it was another site. You couldn't go direct from here to it.
Another thing could be that some of the functions may not work till you have at least 5 posts and/or a few days as a member.
Till one of the admin show up, I won't know any more then that.

I'm having the same problem! I haven't tried the chat before tonight... I was going to start a new thread mentioning this, and then I saw this one.. What happens is, I click on Chat, and it takes me to a registration page for the forum, asking me to register.. Then I tried logging into the forum before clicking on the Chat link and it takes me to a page that says "Our records show that you have already registered under the name of possiblyNuts. If you have lost your password, click here. If you would like to modify your profile, click here."

Weird..

*BUMP*

Any word on this?

I still can't use the chat... Still get the message "Our records show that you have already registered under the name of possiblyNuts. If you have lost your password, click here. If you would like to modify your profile, click here." when I try to sign on after being logged in.

I don't use Chat so I dunno.
I'll alert someone to this situation.

Have you read the sticky posts at the top of this Forum?

Have you tried making sure that when you initially log on that you put a check mark in the box that says "keep me logged in"?

If that box is not checked then when you go to sign into chat it will direct you to the sign in page.

Hope this helps.

There is also another area under the forums that has more information on trouble shooting chat. You can access it through this link.
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...eshooting.html (Chat Troubleshooting)

You might also try posting your question there if my answer didn't solve it for you.

First, check to make sure that you are logged in to the forum. What are the errors you get when you try to enter the chat room and post a blog?

I just tried logging out, then logging back in with the "remember me" option checked. And it still sent me to the same page when I tried to enter the chat. It says "Our records show that you have already registered under the name of possiblyNuts. If you have lost your password, click here. If you would like to modify your profile, click here." It is almost like it is trying to register my account again when I try to enter. I'm using the FireFox browser by the way. I'll try using Opera and see if it works then. Edit: Nope, same thing happens with the opera browser as well.

Well, the problem still exists.. Anything being done about it?

Every once in awhile it would be nice to talk to other people in real time...

There is nothing we can do from here.

The best suggestion I have is to try the troubleshooter on the chat site and see if it helps.
