Hey MG, Its fixed, I saw your note about running CCleaner and thought no I have done the equivalent of that and I have decades of experience blah blah, but I ran it anyway as I do listen these days at it solved the problem! One problem that is not a problem any longer for you (((MG))) Kevin

I cant' get into chat. I've tried asking, but no one will answer. I did download Java.

Go to the first post in this thread and follow the procedure listed. Download java again after you have done all the other things listed. That is all I can do to help you.

What does it mean by enter chat room (float)? I tried that the other day and I thought I would be "floating" in the chat room in order to see what goes on there. I didn't want to chat I just wanted to see what it was about. I've been here for 3 months and the other day was the first time the chat actually worked. Is there a way to observe without actually having to log into the chat?

 | The "float" option opens the chatroom in a new, smaller window. Otherwise the chat opens in the browser window your currently using. The only way to enter the chatroom is by logging in, and you'll be visible to all other users. You can chose not to participate and just watch what's going on, though I'd definitely encourage you to join the conversation if you feel like it Hope this helps. Quote:

Newcomers Forum is a good place to introduce yourself on the boards The Alcoholism and Addictions Help Forums- by SoberRecovery.com By hitting the big blue new thread button (top left hand side of page) you'll see if you follow that link you can start your own thread to get into chat - assuming you're not having problems - follow the big blue toolbar that runs across the top of every page - 'chat room' is on the right hand side...clock the downward arrow and click enter chat room on the drop down menu that appears.
