May I Ask WHY?

My homepage in my profile keeps getting deleted? I thought that we were all allowed to put our own website in our profile that is what it says. I just don't understand why I keep getting deleted or edited here when it comes to my site. We are all here to be helpful to each other. I have plenty of people on my site that even list there homepage in the signature and have yet to edit any of that. I figure the more recovery sites that we have the more help for everyone. Just wondering I guess.

Vic, everything looks in place from here.
I don't see anything missing. No links are allowed in signitures because we have found bad links that cause problems in the past. If a mod or the program is deleting a link in your sig, it is for that reason. I looked through your whole profile page and everything looks fine and in place.

I see it in there, now? There's been some updates on the site - it could be that fixing one thing breaks another.... that's how it works out in the real world for ME, anyway.

LOL yeah I know it is there now because I just put it back in there again today. I had my site on my signature as well. Well actually it just said click here and it kept getting removed so I decided that I would just put it in my homepage in my profile. That was afew weeks ago and I have had to put it back in there I think twice now which isn't a big deal really LOL. I guess I just needed to whine a little bit today.

As far as your original question goes, the answer could be-sometimes **** happens.

A bunch of stuff got fixed the other day, and in the process, some other stuff broke. Avatar's comes to mind right now... and some other, smaller things. I'm sorry I don't have some sort of big juicy story, or reason. But I bet some are forming elsewhere.

I beleive that my purpose here has changed over the time that I have been a member. First it was to try and keep clean and even thought that is still one of my purposes here my main reason that I continue to come here is to help others and to share the gift of hope. Thanks for asking Doug

We have 33,000 members and close to 8,000 active members. The no links in signature rule came about when we had code in the links in signatures that hijacked threads to porno sites and prevented us from even editing the thread.

We had spammers signing up for the sole purpose of advertising their sites in their signatures though links or other methods.

We had links to sites in signatures that were inappropriate.

We had counters and signature images that contained code from other sites.

We had members posting numerous posts every month or so just to recruit our members to their forum and it was their only reason for being here. They were using us as a search engine.

Right now we have 5 to 10 spam bots register a day for the sole purpose of spamming the forums.

I've seen entire google links redirected to another site due to code put into a guest book on the original site.

We don't have time to look through every post and moderate every signature link. We have an average of 1200 posts per day. There is a place to safely post your link in your profile. We've left that option open to everyone. Spammers don't usually hit the profile page for some reason.

We allow up to 3 images in signatures and a quote, phrase, or actual signature. All advertisements, links, broken links, or promotional messages in signatures will be removed when we see them.

I didn't come here to cause a issue I just wanted to know why my homepage gets taken off of my profile. Doug answered the question that was all I needed thanks! I will remove my homepage
