Ummm just wondering if I can change my user name. I think that it is time for a new start and since lucky isn't with us anymore I would like to add another chapter to my road of recovery. I have talked with someone and they don't think that this would be any disrespect to him. Please let me know if not that is alright also!

Please PM Doug or MG. They're a bit busy with the recent problems with the boards, so please be patient.

You're all set Vic. (Obviously)

And don't forget to start changing the titles for the JFT postings.

This is good to know, as now that I have committed to sobriety and clarity, I would like to change my username to match my "initiation day" (as I see it), aka sobriety birthday.

K

also, I think this will be my fifth post, so I will be able to PM an admin about it

(oops! it's only the fourth -- but now that I've made the commitment and have a grain of experience behind my windbaggery, I'll feel more comfortable contributing to the forum in the future anyway)

Vic, the ones you've already done will stay as they are. The only way I can change them is one by one. (meaning: lots and lots of time )

The next time you post one, manually type in the new title, and your browser will remember it. Then everytime you post one, your browser will give you the choice of the two, and you just click on the one you want, and it'll insert automatically.

Thank you, Doug!

I went into a detox/rehab program willingly (after giving up on moderation and trying to do it on my own), and in the days before checking in, I decided to see it as an initiation into a new life (which turned out to be true!)

In many rites in many cultures, the initiate takes a new name for the new life -- so I suppose this is my new name

btw, the 311 is for my initiation date or sobriety birthday (zero years old) -- the day I stood up in a wonderful AA meeting and took the white chip -- man, what a rush -- I felt purged, relieved, proud of myself (I'm doing this!) but humble, shaky but strong and willing, every momentous step toward that chip in that room of fine people, very emotional and it was great!

but I digress ...
