Hello, I am having trouble with my Internet explorer. It is doing some very odd things.Sometimes it will completely close the page i am visiting for no reason or it will be very slow loading pages and when i say slow i mean very very very slow for eg i tried to google something and after 10 minutes of the page trying to load i gave up.I thought that it was perhaps the topic i was searching so i tried putting in random things to see if that made any difference but it didn't.Another problem i had was when i was on a forum and clicked on a link and nothing happened i tried to open a new tab and that wouldn't work either and it would let me access any options that are in my tools menu.i had to restart my computer.Just to let you know i have high speed Internet connection. Thanks in advance to anyone that helps me with this problem. |

What version of Internet Explorer do you have 6 or 7. I recently installed 7 and I also am having problems. Sometimes when I try and go to a site it will block the page or it will not load the page. One day it would block every page I tried to go to. I am trying to go back to version 6 but it is no longer offered on the MS web site. There are other web browsers besides Internet Explore. Do Google search for web browsers and look for one called Firefox or Opera. I am getting ready to install them both. Yes you can run more than one web browser. I will set up Icons on my desk top and which ever one I click on it will lanch. Internet Explorer 7 has way to much security on it for me.

Im a pc tech for a living when Im not recovering. Bad new about IE7 - its no good - too many bugs ! Remove and start over w IE6. You should still see IE6 in your add/remove programs list. It should, once highlighted give some repair or install options depending on your OS and patch level. Alternative browsers are also good as many use them in the linux/unix OSs....which are free !

One factor to consider, is that silvadala is connected to a blocked IP. I would suspect that has something to do with the problem. Logo: MS does still offer IE6 -- remove IE7 first. If you have Win XP, be sure to download or order the CD for XPSP2!! It is a "must have". http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...1/default.mspx Don't bother with Opera. In my opinion, Firefox is clearly the best. That's all I use, except when some pages do not render properly, and I have to launch the page in IE. Last edited by Midas; 12-17-2006 at 06:00 PM. |

Thank you Midas for the link. Yes I have already downloaded SP2. I take all MS security updates for XP. Have you seen the new Vista MS operating system? It is a 2.5gig file. Killer graphics.

They say Vista really slows a computer down. I would not even try it unless I had a P4 3.0 gig CPU or better computer. With at least 1gig of ram min. You also have to have a very good video card i am told.
