Ok, I'm in the middle of writting a long letter for my doc. I do this each year for my physical. That way, I remember my concerns about which I want to speak with him; and he has a hard copy for his records. It's a win-win for us both. In the middle of writting it, the dang thing DISAPPEARED! I had just done a copy/past, and went to type again, and the think totally disappeared! I know that whatever is on the machine is still there somewhere, even if we delete it. Those with the knowledge know how to retreive it. Can someone please teach me how to retrieve this letter? PLEASE???? I'll love you for ever and ever and ever.... ![]() Any help would be very much appreciated. And now that I'm off work, I have a bit of time to play a bit. Thank you for your help.... Shalom!

If you were using Word it's probably there as a hidden temp file. Open your documents folder. Click Tools on the top. Click Folder Options Click the view tab Check show hidden files and folders Click OK You will see files that look like this. ~WRL1288.tmp One of those files might be your letter. You have to open them to see what they are.

The temp file thing is a good trick, MG... Sadly, newer versions of Word seem to be less forgiving. If it is a letter I received in email, then opened it, changed it and it disappeared... then I can sometimes find it by reopening an attachment in an email and go to File Open and pull up the most recent file... sometimes, that is the one that I just edited. Good luck!
