| decaf and hypoglycemia?
I am slowly reducing my caffeine intake by switching to decaf. It is going well and I am almost completely switched over. I feel less anxious and am no withdrawal. Does drinking decaf have any bad effects on your health or it is safe?

Decaf still can have some caffeine in it...small amounts though. The other negative Nancy thing I've heard is that if you don't get organic coffee beans, chances are the foreign country they were produced in doused them in pesticides and insecticides. The third negative thing I've heard is that you should make sure you have unbleached coffee filters...because the hot water can leach those chemicals into your coffee. But you can of course take that or leave it. Some people really go overboard with things...just do what you think is best for you.

As far as how they get the caffeine out? Good question. lol I just bought some decaf green tea and should probably look it up! And I feel you on the organic thing. I have a brother that swears by organic food but he makes over 2 times as much money as me, so sometimes I think it's a rich person's luxury. But there are ways to do it cheaply with famers markets. Also the dirty dozen list helps...you can just avoid the foods that are the most susceptible to pesticides and insecticides as organic and get regular of the rest. I should be doing that with apples, but Christmas put a nice little financial dent in things. haha

You can just do Google searches for them, but here's one: 12 Most Contaminated Peaches Apples Sweet Bell Peppers Celery Nectarines Strawberries Cherries Pears Grapes (Imported) Spinach Lettuce Potatoes 12 Least Contaminated Onions Avocado Sweet Corn (Frozen) Pineapples Mango Asparagus Sweet Peas (Frozen) Kiwi Fruit Bananas Cabbage Broccoli Papaya Sometimes they vary but they say that anything you eat the skin of is what you should really buy organic. Fruits like oranges and bananas, you don't really need to buy organic because you don't eat the part where the pesticides are applied. And I've also read that if anything, produce grown in America is a better bet than stuff out of the country because they don't have as strict guidelines regarding chemical application to food...I think that's why they worry about coffee beans so much, since it's imported from other countries. I used to be more strict with organics, but it just gets hard to keep up with financially. Although, Walmart is starting to carry organics so that's helps just a smidge.
