Most of the books I've read reccommend glutamine and tryptophan, depending on what medications you might already be taking. Gutamine helps with sugar metabolism and tryptophan with cravings. I also take Thiamine, a multi B, and Vitamin C.

You might want to read "Seven Weeks to Recovery", which addresses some of these issues. Good luck!

Supplement your diet with natural vitamins. Vitamin C makes you peppy and lifts your spirits. i make it a point to drink lime juice or eat a citrus fruit during for brunch.

I take a multivatimine...it contains 34 vitamines and minerals, and some other stuff as well...

i don't take them every day tough...my body needs to be able to fix things on itself as well...and besides...a nutricious diet is more important then supplements..

when i first stopped i took milk thistle for my liver (i don't know whether it helps or not...but my liver labs came back good-thank God)
i've tried taking glutamine and it never helped me at all. i haven't seen tryptophan to try it, but will look. i take vit c all the time when i'm feeling sick or think i may be getting sick. it's never made me peppy, but i do thoroughly believe in it's "powers".

You can't go wrong with most vitamins and minerals. Along with those and a healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetables you should be good. Definitely give 7 weeks to sobriety a read, and stock up on glutamine. I wish I would of earlier.
