Martial Arts Thread

Just wondering who all is involved in any type of Martial Art. If you care to share about your style, rank, time involved, and current activity level. Also how your martial arts training has helped or hindered your recovery process.

So true but the art it self is a helpful tool in recovery.

You are so right. I tried for years to use my martial art as a recovery program, only to fail time after time. It was not until I got serious about recovery that I was able to really become a martial artists.
I got my black belt a year ago. Last weekend I got the honor of seeing my daughter receiving hers.
Now rather than thinking of the martial arts as a way to stay sober, I see my martial art as a benefit of sobriety.

I used to do Judo, until I got injured. But, anyway, it's a nice martial art to try 'cause it helps release a lot of stress - plus you get really fit because of the training. It's fun too (although it sometimes hurts, heh).
